2026 Kansas Communicator of the Year Award

The Kansas Communicator of the Year award recognizes an outstanding individual in the field of public communications. This award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and dedication in their work, and who have had a positive impact on the communities they serve.

Eligible candidates for this award include communication professionals working in any public information sector or industry.

Nominations for the Kansas Communicator of the Year award may be submitted by any individual or organization, and self-nominations are also welcome. The nomination process will include a written statement outlining the nominee's qualifications for the award, as well as any relevant supporting materials (such as samples of their work or letters of recommendation).

The recipient of the Kansas Communicator of the Year award will be selected - by a panel of judges appointed by the KAPIO Board - based on the strength of their qualifications, their impact on their community, and their potential to inspire others in the field of communication. The award will be presented at a special ceremony on September 25th, during KAPIO's annual conference (however, the winner is not required to be a member of KAPIO).

Nominations will be accepted through August 7th, 2026.
